U.S. Ski & Snowboard age classifications are based on the athlete’s age as of 12/31/26.
The Alpine U14 is a competitive alpine racing program for athletes ages 12 -13 who are ready to expand their racing experience in a structured and supportive environment.
Program Expectations:

For athletes who reach the U14 level and beyond, the program becomes more competitive and resource-intensive.

To maintain appropriate coach-to-athlete ratios and a high-quality training environment, continued participation is contingent on meeting age-appropriate developmental benchmarks.

Athletes are expected to demonstrate skills aligned with U14 standards in technical ability, tactical understanding, and training habits

Athletes whose skills are consistently below age-group expectations may have their membership reevaluated due to program capacity and staffing limitations

When reevaluation is necessary, families will receive clear communication, specific feedback, and recommended next steps for continued development

This ensures that all athletes are appropriately supported while maintaining the overall quality and integrity of the program.

Athlete Requirements:

New athletes are subject to a tryout evaluation before acceptance and have a US Ski & Snowboard race profile.

Maintain an active U.S. Ski & Snowboard membership and Pennsylvania Alpine Racing Association (PARA) memberships.

Membership fees and race entry fees (race fees, lift tickets, travel, lodging) are separate from Blue Mountain program tuition.

Athletes are required to hold a valid Blue Mountain season pass

Full training schedule, structured race travel, and advanced technical development designed for athletes focused on progressing competitive ski racing skills.
