U16

Eligible birth years:

  • U16: athletes born in 2011–2012

U.S. Ski & Snowboard age classifications are based on the athlete’s age as of 12/31/26.

Alpine U16 program notes:

  • First years of scored competition

  • Athletes earn U.S. Ski & Snowboard seed points

    • Seed points directly impact:

      • Start position in scored races.

  • Seed points in U.S. Ski & Snowboard are numerical values assigned to registered athletes based on their performance in sanctioned events. They function like a golf handicap: lower points equal a higher skill rank, granting athletes more advantageous (earlier) start positions in a race.
