U16
Born 2011 to 2012

The U16 Program is designed for committed alpine athletes ages 14–15 (as of 12/31/26) entering their first years of scored competition. At this level, athletes earn US Ski & Snowboard seed points, which directly impact start position and competitive ranking.
This program is intended for experienced racers with a strong technical foundation and a commitment to high-level training and competition. New athletes must have an active US Ski & Snowboard race profile and prior experience in a structured racing environment. All athletes are subject to evaluation and approval by the Blue Mountain coaching staff.
U16 athletes train and compete on demanding terrain and full-length race courses, requiring discipline, focus, and a year-round commitment to development. Athletes are expected to compete in Eastern PA Regional races and pursue qualification to the PA State Championships.
Seeding & Scoring
Athletes are ranked using US Ski & Snowboard seed points, with scoring modeled on World Cup standards. Performance directly impacts start order, opportunity, and advancement.
Championship Pathway
Top-performing athletes may qualify for the PA State Championships, with advancement opportunities to the U16 Eastern Championships and U16 Eastern Finals based on postseason quotas.
Athlete Commitment
Participation requires full dedication to training, racing, and preparation. Athletes are responsible for maintaining an active US Ski & Snowboard membership and covering all competition-related expenses, including race entries, lift tickets, travel, and lodging.
